About Us

Established in 1991, Adalat Law Firm is one of the first law firms in the independent Azerbaijan. It has since gained a reputation of a stable, professional and well-connected law office staffed with professional lawyers admitted to Azerbaijan Bar. Mr. Mukhtar Mustafayev, one of Azerbaijan’s prominent business litigation lawyers with over 25 years of experience in the legal profession, has been associated with Adalat Law Firm since the date of its establishment.

Apart from him, Adalat is currently staffed with four more professional lawyers and administrative / supporting staff. It has also developed good working relations and interaction with a number of local law firms while sharing certain large-scale projects. Adalat’s personnel are fluent in Azerbaijani, Russian, English, and Turkish.

Our services are provided to the highest standards and with diligence and advantages of a mid-size law firm. Amongst those advantages are facilitated and simplified interaction with the clients with personal approach to each of them; lack of extensive paperwork and bureaucracy, possibility to tailor the scope services per project in the best cost- and time-efficient way.

Our clients (served by the firm as a whole or by lawyers individually) include large banks including one of the top ten banks worldwide; sub-contractors of oil companies; transport companies including one of the largest airlines in the region; foreign law firms which are represented in the region (acting upon their request); telecommunications company, manufacturer and traders, real estate developers, owners or operators; and individuals. We have also assisted various local or regional NGO’s.

What We Do

Against this background, we are capable of proving the entire package of legal assistance to projects of complex and sophisticated nature, thereby acting as our client’s ‘one-stop’ point of legal consulting. Upon wish of the clients, we are happy to assist them through one or many of the forms of legal services provided in/ from our office or in/from any other location agreed with the client:

  • Representation (at meetings, before the Government authorities, foreign or local business partners, in the courts or arbitration);
    Issuing legal opinions (memorandums) on various matters of Azerbaijan law with highlight of cross-border issues and providing in-depth analysis and recommendations;
  • Drafting, negotiation or review of various business agreements (contracts, Letters of Intent, Memorandums of Understanding, protocols, etc.);
  • Assisting the clients in drafting or review of various business communication (letters, applications or other written submissions); or
  • Conducting legal due diligence (i.e. the examination of the legal documentation in any given company for compliance with the laws in terms of quantity and quality).
